It was enacted primarily so insurance companies could get easier access to records. And several years ago, Kendra's law was passed, allowing families and others to involve local mental health officials and the courts in getting non-compliant patients help. Mental illness is not only a real illness but highly stigmatized, so people are often embarrassed to ask for help. I hope for the best outcome for this person and his family.

This IS about class warfare. The economy is in " such bad shape" for a reason. The reason is wall street and the greedy, illegal and fraudulent behavior that resulted in millions losing savings, pension funds losing money etc. And so we bailed them out, they are doing better than ever, we were told they "had to" receive their obscene bonuses because it was "in their CONTRACT" ( but we can't allow working class folks to have contracts!). They are succeeding in turning neighbors against neighbors, blaming public employees, when the problem is a well organized group which has succeeded in almost eliminating the middle class. I suggest you watch the Oscar Best Documentary, "inside job" for the actual facts. It is shameful, and well meaning working people like yourself unfortunately are buying into the lies.

What is meant that the worker did not know he had turned the machine on? That implies that he did not take the normal action to turn it on, or did not know he took such action. Like he hit something without realizing it? It doesn't say he did not mean to turn it on, which would be different. Did it start itself up? Mechanical problem? Just wondering.

Is this why the block of W Genesee between Montrose/Charles and Myrtle was closed until 7:30 pm yesterday? Is that area Solvay or the City? There were numerous law enforcement cars there. Seems like a long time to keep a street closed for an accident that happened at 4 pm. Just wondering.
