a note from a reader:

Hi Sean:

As always, a great article. It's refreshing to read a story about a celebrity that's a stand up person.

Dick Clark was a rare breed in Hollywood. He never forgot his roots. He seemed genuine and
generous. He brought all kinds of music to everyone. He was an
entertainment icon with his game shows music shows and New years
Rockin' eve. It was nice to see that he helped the student from
SU. Many of the people he helped probably went on in the business
world and succeeded.

Thanks, Norm Pyzynski - Syracuse

a note from a reader -

Wonderful to read about Joe and Walt, Sean. Thank you. Somebody can name all three of the people in the old picture, I'll bet ... Your column and the picture surely bring back memories. I began to run it in 1980, I think. Remember Carolyn Eich with an armful of flowers, so she must have won it once or twice. Patti Ford, too. A gathering of running women who met last Sunday for the 70th birthday of one of us -- not me -- shared a zillion of these stories. There is nothing, Sean, nothing like old friends. Thanks for trip back in time. These men are wonderful people.

As always, a great article Sean Kirst. I also played Valley LL baseball and your article brought back a lot of memories: of different players and coaches, opening day parades, getting to announce Majors games upstairs above the dugout, a coach who bought every player on the team a slice of pizza and a Coke whenever we won, walking on the foot bridge from Midland Ave to the field......an on and on.........

Surveillance Video: Car Crashes Into Domino's Pizza

Posted by Steven J. Pallone / The Post-Standard on Videos From The Post-Standard on April 25, 2012, 3:06PM

A Lyncourt woman accidentally stepped on the gas and plowed her car through a wall into the Domino's Pizza at 2022 Teall Avenue Monday night. Elizabeth Lameringole, 24, was not injured in the crash, nor were four workers inside the restaurant at the time. The car crashed through the front door, skidded across the waiting area, broke through a dividing wall and destroyed a table. It avoided the ovens or other major equipment. The restaurant has since reopened, said owner Tim Klering.
