Onondaga Park in Strathmore. Prettiest park in CNY.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! This would be terrible. I would never be able to go to a road game and would never follow the conference like I do now. This makes me so mad I might even give up my tickets.
Don't break up the Big East Basketball!

Eds & Meds has been the driver for many succesful cities (big & small). It is good to see it happening here. And when Rt 81 gets razed, that growth can better connect with downtown and really help our city flourish.

You could get it too. All you have to do is to move in the city and send your kid to city schools. The child has to get accepted into the school on their own merit. Congrats to Maureen's son for getting accepted to SU.
Say Yes support comes from many sources that want to see the city improve, including donations from the public, area companies, and participating colleges.

There is not any income caps on Say Yes college scholarships from SU, Coopers Union, SUNY Binghampton, SUNY Albany, SUNY New Paltz, and all of the other SUNY/CUNY schools. Plenty of good options for families of any income to choose from.

Bravo to Ms Green for sharing the benefits to Say Yes!
For our Central New York community to prosper, we need a strong city because cities are the cultural and civic cores of an area. A vibrant city gives employers more reason to come to Central New York and more young people a reason to come here after graduating college. Say Yes has the possibility of boosting our city, which will benefit all of Central New York. The benefit of tuition free college could attract more people to live in the city, purchase real estate here, and send their kids to school city schools. That is the sort of investment in the community that our city desperately needs and has been missing for too long. If more middle-class families follow Ms Green's footsteps, then Central New York prospers. Otherwise, a downtrodden and unsafe city makes our entire area less desirable.

Picking up the trash is so needed..but so is graffiti removal. Graffiti off of Rt 690 in the heart of downtown hasn't been cleaned up in nearly 2 years and it is getting worse. How can such a visible eyesore get ignored for so long?

Sadly, none of them live in the city. Let's get some diversity here.

Love the work that these people have done to add interest to our city!

Gannons is the best! Homemade and a huge variety of great flavors.

Besides Say Yes (which was a gift that fell into his lap) I'm still trying to figure what positives occured for SCSD under Lowengard.

Love this tour! They don't make homes with this type of character and quality anymore.

Art provides many opportunities to enjoy our city. Looking foward to many of them, especially Art on the Porches in Strathmore.

Don't forget ART ON THE PORCHES. Art on the Porches is an art show and sale on June 18 in the city's Strathmore neighborhood. The streets are closed for the festival and there is music, food, and a free hands-on art center to make your your own creations.

Some good ones on the list. You can also add Art on the Porches. An art show and sale in the historic Strathmore neighborhood on June 18.

Maybe we can get OTB down near Fayette and Salina right about the same time the bus transfer stations move. Then we can make sure that area will never improve.
The only way to top this would be to add a pawn shop and a convenient store next door.

A stunning one-of-a-kind house. They don't make quaility as good as this anymore.

Waahhh! My kids walked to school today and had no problems. Yes, it was cold...really cold....but they were dressed adequately for the trip. The only health consequence was probably a runny nose. Oh, I forgot, there is the added health benefit that comes from walking. A benefit that not many rural and suburban students enjoy.

The end date should be when crime is not a problem and the start date should have been yesterday.

It is very disappointing to have this opposition jeopordize the possibility of adding a safety tool that has helped other communties. Crime in our city needs to be more effectively addressed. It has devastated some areas of the city. The city has to make a concerted effort to change that and cameras on public streets can be a part of that. While I don't think it will serve as much of a deterrant, cameras have been shown to help solve crimes. By helping to get criminals off of the street, that will help reduce future crime and the constitutionality has been upheld in other cities.

As a city resident, I urge the common council to add safety cameras throughout the city ASAP!

It should be no surprise to anyone familiar with Kitty Hoynes that they would get this honor. They have excellent food, great service, and the Hoyne's family is very involved in the community. They are one of Syracuse's gems and their restaurant is on my short list of places that I would bring out-of-town guests to.

I think their efforts are to be commended and I hope they are wildly successful in getting more people to choose city living.

Bravo to this group! I wish there were more people (like them) that cared this much about the city and were working to make it a better place.

BC, VT, and U of Miami have not seen a big boost from joining the ACC. SU should learn from that and stay in the Big East where it is a good fit.

You're right. The Park Ave fest is another good one and does a lot to show-off the Park Ave neighborhood.

Syracuse is not part of Big 10 country and never should be.

who cares about those chain restaurants that can be found in any city, usa! We have so so many great local places to choose from!!

This is another example of how LeMoyne could have done more to help the community (while helping themselves). Supporting local business does more to help the local economy. They ignored this.

They also have seen encroaching urban blight around their campus and Say Yes has a good chance of attracting middle class families back to Syracuse and being a tool for community revitalization. Yet they still decided to impose income restrictions on their Say Yes scholarships, which rules out middle class families. The community thanks you. You didn't want middle class families near your school anyways because they would be more likely to complain about student behavior. Way to go LeMoyne! SU and SUNY schools here we come!
