Except for OS they were allowed to be physical. It would be nice if the tournament had someone officiating the refs.

There's always ample excuses for losing. I wonder what they'll be this year ie; we haven't played in a while now because of that nasty double bye and cincinnati playing xtra hard, our players aren't used to rebounding that much because their busy with group celebrating, it's really confusing when your best players are bench players, tournament games are overrated, hey it's really tough when everyone is out to beat you. Feel free to your own.

Bad game for seniors and coach B. I cannot believe Joseph played 33 minutes and got zero rebounds. Should have been benched for Christmas who played great last game and was rewarded with just 3 minutes tonight. Unbelievably, other than Dion this team did not look like they were fully invested.

Poor rebounding is too big a flaw to go deep into March Madness. This team is also starting to look like a bunch of guys playing for themselves, standing around and looking for the easy way out. Good luck orange, you're going to need it!

Agreed. On tv they looked like pink flamingos.

Southern Cal would be bigger yet. Think Rose Bowl.

Up. Exactly. Makes perfect sense.

How about staying regionally relevant. Otherwise why not invite Southern Cal. Aren't they a southern school as TCU was invited to the BE because they were in eastern Texas. The BE lost their relevancy this way along with not demanding a stronger commitment to fb.

Agreed. And with all the great comments of "Tango". Boston College has gone from Big East power to irrelevant since joining the ACC. They didn't even make the Ncaa Tourn last yr and today they lost to Duke. How telling that their football program now falls below the little regarded presence of Duke! Miami is no longer the powerhouse they were. They are looking at hard time which seems unbelievable considering where they were in the B.E. Syracuse is going to face the same problems as that of BC. They will face the same identity crisis. A northern team playing in a southern league. Their recruiting edge will be lost as they lose Madison Square Garden, a national showplace and a place where major recruits want showcase themselves. It was an important separator from the ACC teams and others. This is a bad, bad decision. We need storm that place with our objections, threaten boycotts. Whatever it takes. Instead of deserting, they should work on building the football side and unifying the league as they were making major process with the addition of TCU and the developing programs of all B.E. teams.

Meth - Bad

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) - Too bad

Isn't there anything to do in florida? What a sad sack.

Did you just start following the game last year? One year does not establish a trend or define what you're trying say especially when you look at what this league has done over its history.

What are you talking about? The Big East has a very good history of performance in the ncaa tournament. The acc is basically a 2 team conference, especially these days.

Remember when that AD from BC declared the Big East is dead and deserted the conference for the greener pastures of the ACC. Where is Boston College now and that dippy athletic director. LOL

BC has lost their identity and ability to recruit because they're no longer in the BE. Maybe they can start promoting themselves as the Miami of Mass!

Dude you are worshipping the wrong One. JB deserves all the criticism he gets after that game. Hazatako and Thruwaydave have made several insightful relevant comments in this blog. We do seem very inflexible and stagnant in our approach. When your opponent has made all the right adjustments, you (JB) need to adjust to them. How many times in a row has he lost to Pittsburgh and Louisville now?

B. Keita came through big. Looks like the second coming of Bill Russell. 11 boards, 2 blks, 6 steals would have had Dick Vitale going nuts even in Pittsburg, "are you kidding me?" Always a great night when you beat Connecticut!

I like your comments but I don't agree with your long term strategy. This team isn't going to the final 4 if they can't get more from Melo. Time to take the training wheels off and suffer the consequences. A couple more losses perhaps. But a more developed and tournament ready Melo would me my higher objective. Granted nobody knows his potential better than Sir Boehiem. I just don't see a starting 5 on this team that can make a run at the final 4 without over-relying on R.J. to it all underneath.

They didn't think it was over when they went down 19-0. Disaster struck and their reaction was to reach deeper. Heart of a champion. From reading your words, you may want to heed their example. It's the perfect life lesson.

+1. The bad start took our freshman centers out of the game. Baye Keita seems to have hit a plateau and Melo is still making baby steps. Could have really used DaShonte Riley in this game. Team came back well though and the value of that experience can't be discounted come tournament time.

Ease up there enraged fanatic one (caddad). Mayor just taken this one a little harder than you and me. No need for the tar and sacrificing a bird. At the very least he confidently, I might even add boastfully guaranteed a nit bid.

cuse2323 you have no idea of what you're talking about. You sorely lack reading apprehension. Once more, Scoop will help himself and the team more by using his ball skills to drive and dish or pull up for the medium range jump shot which is a stronger shot for him. The trey is a low percentage play. He is a true point guard that can make everyone else better. Believe me, he's good enough to make his own shot opportunities.

Message to Scoop. Put away the ego, forget about the 3 point trey attempts. Use your ball skills, drive, dish or pull up for medium range jumper. Its classic old school. It fits you and you would score a lot more. Just sayin.

This looks like a top 5 team to me. Scoop and Jackson were something else. That had to be some HS team back in Philly. Rick was my MVP. Everybody had a part. But I do have some concerns about rebounding. Jackson is carrying too much of the load. Maybe if they could get Melo to focus on just doing one thing right. Just rebound baby! I thought it was a rap at the 16 point lead mark but Providence showed why The BE is a beast. Good game for both teams. I didn't see anyone running on low.

Same exact sentiments. This does not look anything like that earlier team in the season. What a transformation. I didn't think they could be better than last year after losing the big 3 but I think they are. Those kids are developing fast and beyond what I thought possible. That's a lot of good coaching. That's amore!

Agreed. I hope Melo can play. He'll get better off this game. Drexel is good. But after watching Reese and Tomaszewski's play coming off the bench Monday, I'd love to see a little more from those guys. I have a strong feeling Syracuse's toughest games come in practice.

I'm feelin it too partner. Keita is becoming a bona fide star. Melo's ready for a break out game, he's playing tougher underneath. Sutherland can now be counted on for bigger things and the rest of the gang is coming on as well. Watch out Big East. Look out Conn we're coming through.

Manson is that you. I thought we confiscated that cell phone.

This team has a lot of parts but not many participants. I don’t see a sweet 16 here. If you've noticed, this is a very flawed team. There isn't a player without weakness or strong deficiencies but good in many areas. It's not perfectly balanced of course, so it's up to a coach to strategically use his players to help achieve that end. Mookie is one of their best outside shooters. It's this squad’s Achilles’ heal. This team will never reach it's full potential until they're able to utilize, employ, adapt, Mookie and Sutherland into the game plan. Shame on Boeheim. He does such a good job otherwise.
