I wish for just one minute that these conferences would think about the toll all this travel will put on the student-athletes than the all mighty dollar. This is more reason to lean and agree that college athletes should get paid.

I have worked as a skycap in both Syracuse and Buffalo. In Syracuse it was nice to have police patrol around frequently. They were able go give tickets and more traffic along. From a security standpoint it was nice to have the Syracuse Police presence. I think poeple take them much more seriously. In Buffalo they had private sercurity with the NFTA (Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority). The private security would have 5-6 people walking around telling people they could not park and moving traffic along. This worked out pretty well until passengers realized they were a private company and could not issue tickets. By the time the NFTA would get there it would be 15 min. and they would already be gone. I felt much safer working in Syracuse on the curb then I did in Buffalo. If a problem presented itself I knew the Syracuse Police were right around and I could get them quickly. I felt more comfortable with an experienced police officer around. I am kind of on the fence but some things to come down to dollars and cents. But there is no question in my mind that there will be a loss in security if the switch happens.

Did you read the story? It was his dream to play for SU, and he is playing this year. Why settle for something less like Cortland. He pushed himself earned a scholarship and the reward has paid off. I would say what a great story but its not over. These are the stories that I wish all kids would see, not the one that are given everything only to be stupid and lose it all.
