Zimmerman is a coward. He injected a firearm into a situation that he was told by 911 not to engage in. He confronted Martin, and then was getting the snot kicked out of him, (not "beating to death" as iambasic states), so he gets scared and shoots an unarmed teenager. Big arse wussy! The folks who say a black kid walking in a gated community is scary and needs to be dealt with are the same hypocrites who root for their favorite sports team that has black athletes. I can agree with the gov't controlling the media and what citizens with cell phone cameras can photograph. It goes hand in hand with a fascist police state. Submit or be crushed! I agree with the mayor on this one. The common council in Syracuse is full of feeble-minded, political star wannabes. We are facing a deficit and they don't want to continue not spending, dare they not be re-elected by the sheeple who love handouts.

It's about time they went after the university's and other "non-profits" to "kick-in" as it were. They depend on city services like fire & police and plowed roads so their employees can get to work. The commuter tax just takes money out of workers pockets. And I agree with christoff9, reduce gov't spending where possible. It amazes me that the city councilors "found" an extra $2-million in upcoming sales tax revenue and instead of saving it, THEY WANT TO SPEND IT! Fine stewards of the public funds they are.

Nice idea and good luck with it. However, I see more and more poverty in this city. Renters & landlords that don't care. I just have this notion that Syracuse is just becoming a poor ghetto. So how do you change the mindset? Perhaps adopting the "Broken Window" syndrome. The mayor's office has to bolster the rank & reach of the codes dept. to start cracking down on rundown properties, especially landlords. Have the police enforce more of the quality of life violations. Start from the bottom up, IMO.

I concur. I have put them on two motorcycles and they have saved me several times. I actually was able to talk to the "cage" drivers after near collisions, and they never saw me on the bike, but they did see the headlight modulating. This modulators have been legal in all 50 states plus D.C. for well over 20-years.
