You are totally clueless if you think that even small towns have escaped this idea with teens. Look at the small towns that have excessive numbers of kids drinking underage and killing themselves and others while driving like idiots. Look at the number of Drug cases from Meth that are caught in small towns.

Believe me, places outside of Syracuse are not exempt from this type of action. And ONLY until we start holding the Parents accountable will we see any type of results.

I read a story about a City out west that took the parents in a situation like this and forced them to wear Neon Yellow Jump Suits and pick up trash along a busy street. On the back was labeled "Bad Parents" When you start to let the public know WHO the bad parents are, attitudes will change.

A bit clueless aren't you? The fact is Obama is NOT putting anything into Law. The Law has been on the books for a while, it just has NOT been enforced. There was an attempt to put forward an exemption for any and all Religion based operations and that would have gone completely against the law itself.

If a Religious run organization runs a Hospital and they service people outside of THEIR own faith, than they are required BY LAW that is already on the Books, to not discriminate in their Health Care Coverage. This has NOTHING to do with the Church because once they open their doors to people of other faiths in a business that is NOT a Church they must follow the Law.

And the funny part is this law was written and passed by Republicans.

The President just refused to allow a Waiver to the law for Religious based Hospitals, Clinics etc. And the Religious Right is just attempting to smear this President for following a law that the GOP wrote.

Actually it is YOU who does not remember very much at all. The fact is the Church used the idea of "Separation of Church and State" in attempts to block any and all Police Investigations into the actions of Pedophile Priests. The Church HID that proof and instead moved the Priests OUT of the area and AGAIN, blocked any attempt by the Police to find the Priests.

The Church openly supported the Pedophile Priests for YEARS by moving them from Parish to Parish and many times moving them and putting them right into another Parish and working WITH Children. The Church wants to violate the law when it suits them, but hide behind a law when they can use it to their advantage.

It is long past time that Church's LOSE their Tax Exempt Status. Why should MY Tax Dollars go to pay for THEIR sidewalk repairs that any other Home Owner has to pay for? Why should My Tax Dollars pay for the Fire Dept or Police Dept protection of THEIR place of Worship?

Wrong again. Planned Parenthood's business breakdown shows that ONLY 3% of what they do is Abortion, while over 35% is Cancer screening and assistance.

The Supreme Court determined that the law had to stand because the person bringing the law suit did not have standing to challenge the law because they were never injured by the law. BUT, the Justices also said in the decision that IF a person who was actually refused voting because of this law "there could easily be a different decision on this subject"

I totally agree. Newt pulled a Palin in accusing the media for a story that was his fault all along. The Media did not dig out this story from his Ex, his Ex came out with it. It is long past time that you Religious fanatics follow YOUR own rules and stop trying to force them upon anyone else. I live in a Senior Apt building that is all electric. I have been laughed at repeatedly because I have purchases a few oil lamps I found at garage sales. I guess they stopped laughing when a couple people knocked on my door to borrow some of those emergency candles I purchased on sale at the dollar store.

I always have emergency supplies on hand, even enough canned food to set me up for a while if we have a major snow storm. I really do not know why people always assume that someone will help them out. Plan ahead and you will not have to worry about it.

Your post is more right than you know. The company building this pipeline is TransCanadian, they have a long history of hiring Foreign workers, even over Canadian Workers. This Pipeline that already exists in this country has had 13 leaks and spills in the last YEAR. And they want this pipeline to go across highly threatened areas.

I wish people would do some research about these Oilsands. They have the consistency of Peanut Butter and require very high pressure in a pipeline that is made in Asia of low quality steel. This is an accident waiting to happen and the American Tax Payer will be the one picking up the tab for cleanup. Just like we have had to pay over 80% for every single pollution disaster in this country.

In addition this agreement DOES NOT guarantee any American Jobs at all.

You are wrong. The reason we do not get the large conventions is the lack of space to HOLD the conventions, plus the ability to have a Hotel CLOSE to where the conventions are held. For years we had someone running the Conventions Center that did NOTHING to push Syracuse and bring in new conventions, we have an expert there now and if this County got behind HER and let her do her job we could see many of those conventions return to Syracuse.

Isn't it funny that it is Illegal for Union Members to do this, but people on Wall Street do this every single day of the week and no one does a thing about it.

Boy are you right....add to that two simple ideas........1. The US had a glut and backlog of Oil waiting to be refined. There are tankers lined up waiting to off load because the Oil Companies even refused help from the GOP to build new refineries. 2. If you can control the supply of a product you can control the price of a product. And THAT is what the Oil Refineries are doing. They keep the supplies low to keep prices high.

If NY State with Gov Pataki had not played games and try to insure that ONLY Congel got the Inner Harbor project we would have seen the Inner Harbor completely done by now. BUT, the State wanted Congel and did everything but come out and say it directly. Two other companies who were also bidding on the Inner Harbor pulled out and said as much. They said the present Administration in NY State would not give the Inner Harbor to anyone but Congel. So Congel GOT the bid, but he delayed and delayed and delayed and missed deadline after deadline.

As a former Hotel Person we don't need another Hotel, Central NY has a GLUT of Hotel Rooms. The ONLY reason some Politicians want more hotels is they want to be able to bid to get the NCAA finals, and Syracuse would be lucky to see them once ever 10 years or more. While Hotels and Motels that have used their own money with no Tax breaks to expand could be put out of business.

We have ENOUGH Hotels in Syracuse now. NOW even with that being said, if a SMALL Hotel was built NEAR the property that would be a good thing. Something like this could help the Mall and be mutually beneficial to both.

Shoppers from Canada have been coming to Central NY for a very long time. My first job was at the Yates Hotel that was Downtown back in 1965. We would get bus tours from Canada who came down here to shop.

I love all the people who somehow believe that Unions are the cause of all the problems. The fact is Unions protect YOUR JOBS. If it were not for Unions you would see the GOP work to eliminate all overtime, Child Labor Laws, elimination of Sick days and Personnel day.....oh wait, the GOP is already working on doing that.

Unions stand up for ALL workers. I have NEVER belonged to a Union but I know that my pay was higher because of Unions and I had my Workers rights protected because of Unions. An individual does not stand a chance in a fight against a Company. But the Unions had put in place protections for workers so that Companies could not take advantage of them.

And how about some of you that are so Anti-Union lean some facts. The fact is Public Sector Union members DO NOT make more money than their private sector counter parts. The facts is Unions make LESS, pay more into their Retirement and Medial Benefits. Add to that the idea that WE ALL end up paying for the Private Sector workers when we purchase their items. And we have absolutely no control over that at all.

actually it is YOU who should read the Constitution and not just the parts you like. Since I am sure you are talking about Obama and Libya here is a clue. Obama used the agreement with the UN for the use of force. Those agreements were signed into law by the House and the Senate and signed by a sitting President. That means that Obama followed the Law.

You can keep up with all the Ron Paul excuses you want. If your NAME is on the top of a Newsletter you are responsible for every single word written in that Newsletter. There is VIDEO showing him openly supporting his Newsletter and what is written in it AFTER those stories came out. If he does not support those ideas he should have renounced them at the time. The fact is the State's choppers are STILL paid for by Tax Payers, US. But the fact is you can never be sure that you can get a State chopper when one is needed. The other counties do not have the population that Onondaga County has and as such does not have the accidents that we do and the missing people that we do.

The simple fact is we could do away with Air One and wait for a State Chopper, and people could die, or a child could die who is lost in the woods.

Either way, we will end up paying for it. If we do away with Air One than the State is going to ask for more money in its budget for their choppers and we will end up having to pay for that. So either way we will pay for the choppers, but what is the better use of our Tax Dollars? Paying for increased State Choppers that are used all across the State, or paying for Air One that is used ONLY locally?

How did the US allow a Canadian Company to take over our Hydro Electric Plants? The USA is one of only a small number of countries who allow foreign companies to own essential infrastructure items such as National Grid or our Hydro Plants. Most Countries realize that these items are far too essential to the security of a nation to allow anyone to own them if they are not from the host country.

The land was not stolen. I hate to tell you but the land was purchased legally. The fact is the Indian Casino is ILLEGAL and should have its doors closed. The compact that allowed the Casino to even be built on NONINDIAN LANDS will illegal and the courts have said so.

This is the former Genesee Inn owned by Norman Swanson. He redid this hotel without a single penny of Tax Payer money. So if he can do this, and his residence hotel next door and redo a long term stay hotel into a normal hotel without a single penny of Tax Cuts, Tax Grants or Tax Breaks, why is it no one else seems to be able to do it?

Just to let people know.....I was fired by Normal Swanson from his Hotel, but I truly respect the Man for his ability to get things done and to make this hotel a big success.

Actually if you really want to look for the people that did this, just follow South Salina st all the way past Nedrow. Its rather easy to find, just look for the Smoke Shop. American Indians from the Onondaga Nation have been doing this for a while, they even bragged about it in the past and filed it as they did the damage. BUT, they never deface the statue, they only use paint to make a statement.
