Cleveland MetroHealth System reports 2011 net loss, but officials positive on future

MetroHealth System's management announced Wednesday an unaudited $2.7 million net loss for 2011 rather than the $1.1 million net loss it warned Cuyahoga County leaders to expect earlier this year.  Full story »

@Blossom: University Circle police are a state-certified police force with 23 full-time officers, according to the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. So, yes, they do have the same authorities as the East Cleveland police, who have are also state certified. - Sarah

Cleveland MetroHealth System's security force operated as police without legal authority

The health system calls its four dispatchers and nearly 60 state-trained peace officers and security guards "a full-service police department." But they are not police.
